GG Jackson finished Wednesday’s 104-98 win over Orlando with 27 points (10-of-20 FGs, 4-of-9 FTs), 13 rebounds, and three 3-pointers in 31 minutes.

After playing well at the Salt Lake City summer league, Jackson has been even better in Las Vegas. He finished Wednesday’s victory with his second double-double in as many games, and the Grizzlies have also given Jackson more challenging defensive matchups. That’s the end of the floor where GG needs to improve the most, and while he did not produce any defensive stats against the Magic, the second-year forward was not a liability. He’ll be worth taking a late-round flier on in fantasy drafts this fall.
Zaccharie Risacher

ATL Small Forward

Zaccharie Risacher (right quad contusion) will not play in Wednesday’s game against the Lakers.

Risacher’s injury is not severe, but his absence means both first-round picks will sit out Wednesday’s matchup. The Lakers have sidelined Dalton Knecht for rest reasons. Risacher’s injury will not linger, so there’s no need to be concerned about the rookie’s training camp availability. Whether or not he plays again this week in Las Vegas remains in the air.
Keon Ellis

SAC Shooting Guard #23

Keon Ellis finished Wednesday’s 106-105 loss to the Knicks with 29 points (10-of-18 FGs, 4-of-5 FTs), four rebounds, six assists, two steals, four blocks, and five 3-pointers in 38 minutes.

Given how well Ellis has played this summer and his minutes tally on Wednesday, it’s fair to question if the Kings will shut him down. His offensive role will be comparatively limited once the season begins, as the Kings can rely on De’Aaron Fox, DeMar DeRozan, and Domantas Sabonis to shoulder most of the workload. However, Ellis earned rotation minutes last season, including a move into the starting lineup after Kevin Huerter suffered a season-ending shoulder injury. Ellis will be worth a roll of the dice in the latter rounds of drafts.
Kel'El Ware

Kel’El Ware finished Wednesday’s 92-79 win over Dallas with 24 points (9-of-12 FGs, 6-of-9 FTs), 10 rebounds, one steal, and three blocked shots in 31 minutes.

Ware’s comfort level has improved by the game, and he has been one of the best rookies in Las Vegas. The 15th overall pick in last month’s draft recorded a second consecutive double-double, and he is up to seven blocked shots in three games. The talent level at summer league is not on par with what Ware will experience in October. But the rebounding, shot blocking, and motor are attributes that should translate. Even though Ware is likely to come off the bench, he’s a rookie worth selecting in standard league drafts.
Khris Middleton

MIL Small Forward #22

According to a report from The Athletic’s Shams Charnia, Middelton is walking without pain after undergoing operations on both his ankles.

Middleton averaged 15.1 points for a second consecutive season in 2023-24 after missing over half of the 2022-23 campaign. Fantasy managers can be hopeful for a more reliable run in 2024-25 but shouldn’t bank on a major comeback.
Cory Joseph

ORL Point Guard #1

According to a report from Hoops Hype’s Michael Scotto, Joseph is signing a two-year deal with Orlando.

Joseph averaged 11.4 points per game for the Warriors last season. The reserve guard will likely have a hard time finding significant minutes next season, though. The Magic added Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to a backcourt group that includes Jalen Suggs, Cole Anthony, Gary Harris, and Anthony Black. Fantasy managers shouldn’t expect Joseph to be an impact player any time soon.
Anthony Black

ORL Point Guard #0

According to a report from The Orlando Sentinel, Black suffered the injury during his last Summer League outing. He won’t play against the Timberwolves on Wednesday.

Black posted a modest five points and six assists in his last Summer League performance. His absence will give other guards more of a chance to impact games.
Kyrie Irving

DAL Point Guard #11

Shams Charania of The Athletic reports that Kyrie Irving underwent surgery to repair a broken left hand.

Irving apparently suffered the injury while training in early July, but the severity of the injury and a potential timeline for return are unknowns.
Charles Bassey

The Athletic’s Shams Charania reports that Charles Bassey has signed with the Spurs on a one-year, $2.2 million deal.

Bassey logged just under 11 minutes per tilt across 19 appearances for the Spurs before tearing his ACL last season. He’s expected back at some point during the first half of the 2024-25 campaign, but he won’t be worth a look in fantasy.
Sandro Mamukelashvili

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the Spurs have re-signed Sandro Mamukelashvili on a $2.2 million deal.

Mamukelashvili averaged just 9.8 minutes across 46 appearances in his first season with San Antonio in 2023-24. He’s far off the fantasy radar as a depth option in the Spurs’ talented frontcourt.
