Cobb is walking away from the field and entering the broadcasting game as a studio analyst for the SEC Network. The former Kentucky wide receiver was a second-round pick of the Packers in 2011 and established himself as one of the league’s top slot receivers during his second season when he went for 80-954-8 on 104 targets. Cobb’s production topped out at 91-1287-12 in 2014, but the veteran receiver strung together a long, productive career in which he totaled more than 7,600 receiving yards along with 54 receiving touchdowns. His final season, which came last year with the Jets, was an underwhelming one. After being brought in by long-time Packers teammate Aaron Rodgers, Cobb played a minimal role for the team in 2023, catching just five passes over the 11 games he appeared in.

Per Schefter, Fournette has also re-hired his agent as he continues to look for a home in the NFL. His agent, Ari Nissim, told Schefter, “Leonard’s in the best shape of his career and I expect he will have a new home soon.” Fournette signed with the Bills in the middle of the 2023 season but didn’t see much action. He totaled 12 carries for 40 yards and was released before the end of the postseason. Fournette’s experience may allow him to land a gig as a depth option, but his days as a fantasy-relevant player appear to be over.

This tragic news was confirmed by Jackson’s agent and former high school coach. Jackson was a fourth-round pick of the Vikings in this year’s draft and went from JUCO to Alabama and eventually Oregon, where he had a breakout campaign in 2023. At one point, Jackson had all but given up on football before enrolling at Fort Scott Community College in 2019 and later moving on to East Mississippi Community College. Jackson, 24, totaled 34 tackles and three interceptions in his lone year at Oregon and was named First-team All-Pac-12 for his efforts. His unconventional path to the draft made him an exciting and inspirational prospect to watch this offseason. Our thoughts are with his loved ones.

Robinson signed with the Ravens as a UDFA after this year’s draft but won’t be joining them in training camp. The former Kentucky receiver who played 66.3 percent of his college snaps from the slot could catch on with another team in the coming days, but will be considered a long-shot to make a 53-man roster.

Hayes was arrested in Morgan County, Alabama, over the weekend for marijuana possession. The 2019 UDFA has spent time with nine different teams over his six-year career but has appeared in just 14 games, playing primarily on special teams.

This one felt inevitable. Over the last month, Buggs has been charged with misdemeanor cruelty to dogs in the second degree and was arrested last week on domestic violence and burglary charges. The sixth-year pro never played a regular-season game with the Chiefs and is unlikely to see action anytime soon as he sorts out these legal issues. Buggs played in 10 games for the Lions last season before being released, totaling 12 tackles, two TFLs, and one sack. Buggs remains in jail after last week’s arrest.

Phelps was recently arrested for drunk driving after crashing his car into a restaurant and causing nearly $300,000 worth of damage. The 2023 UDFA has yet to appear in a game as a pro and could struggle to latch on with a new team as he goes through his upcoming legal proceedings.

Washington was an unsigned free agent for 2023 after playing in two games for the Cowboys in 2022. He suffered a Jones fracture with the Cowboys and bounced around several teams since then, not seeing any playing time with them. In four seasons as a Steeler, Washington caught 114 passes for 1,629 yards and 11 touchdowns. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports Washington has received multiple inquiries from teams and may be trying out for them soon.

Bakhtiari, 32, has played in just 13 games since the start of the 2021 season after a horrific late season injury in 2020. He continues a media tour to try to gin up interest among contending teams with offensive line issues, mostly recently sitting down with ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Even if he signs with a team this summer, it’s hard to imagine Bakhtiari will be more than a rotational player. The Jets, with longtime Bakhtiari friend Aaron Rodgers under center, makes sense as a landing spot this summer.

Williams tore his ACL as a member of the Dolphins in December of last year. He started nine games for Miami last season after starting 17 games in 2022. Starting his career with the Cowboys, Williams has been a starting interior offensive lineman for most of his career. He is currently a free agent and is in discussions with multiple teams for 2024. Schefter reports that Williams expects to be ready for the start of the season and plans to pick a new team before training camp.
